The whole of the morning was spent on Sanibel Island, thankfully in sunshine. Most of the time was spent on the "Ding" Darling Trail, a renowned US wildlife sanctuary, and reputed to be Roger Tory Peterson's favourite birding location. I can understand why. On leaving Sanibel, we motored north-west to some remote area south of Lake Kissimmee to look for Florida Scrub Jay (with success).
