For the 5th. night on the trot, a decent moth turned up in the trap, this time a Sallow, which is only the 3rd. record for Flamborough.

Interesting species continue to turn up in the trap - the 1st. Feathered Gothic for Flamborough last night plus this little beauty, the 1st. Vapourer of the year. (mike)

Hot on the heels of the Twin-spotted Wainscot and Bordered Straw, the trap yielded a Bulrush Wainscot this morning - thats 3 goodies on 3 consecutive nights and the weather looks good for tonight. Ian caught the 1st. Red Underwing of the year, and the Redshank was at Buckton Pond. (mike).

Cor blimey.

With the boat headed full steam back to boston from Stelwagen Bank off the cape, this freshly moulted Cory's Shearwater allowed me to snap 85 times as it flew parallel to us. Most were blurred, wings chopped off etc. as a moving boat is less than ideal, but a good camera and a large memory card trumps all.

Along  with the unphotographable Wilson's Petrels, there were several other good birding moments on our latest pelagic trip on Monday the 10th, including 2 Red-necked Phalarope.
Whale pics to follow...

A few birds from Gooseberry Island, Horseneck Beach, Mass.

Sorry for the lack of Id. on all of these, no time to spare right now.
