Pink Sunshine (20th Feb 2009)
One of the most characterful, endearing and aesthetically beautiful species on the planet, a gregarious party of seven fed, dozed, called, preened and generally showed off for a good half hour in sunshine; we were even lucky enough to see courtship berry-exchanging and singing within a couple of metres of us.
The undoubted highlight of a good day's birding in Bedfordfordshire with Mark T (although Jack Snipe were great value, at nearby Stratton, in no small part thanks to canine assistance from Norman and Higby).
