Kazakhstan 2001.

Apart from watching Cetaceans off the New England coast, the Kazakh trip was the most awesome wildlife experience of my life. From the vast rolling steppe of the north, moving south through the various deserts to the celestial mountains (Tien Shan) of the south, the trip was truly magical. Here's a glimpse why :-
 Baillon's Crake
 Caspian Plover

 Desert Finch

 Grey-necked Bunting
 Himalayan Rubythroat

 Lesser Grey Shrike
Mongolian Finch

 Steppe Eagle
 Red-headed Bunting
 Saxaul Sparrow

 Terek Sandpiper
 Tien Shan
Wild Tulips on the Steppe.
